JAMUN:
History:
Jamun is basically originated from INDIA, so natives of INDIA eat it too much. It’s called “JAVA PLUM” or “BLACK PLUM” in English. It’s also found in other countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Malaysia etc.
Description:
Jamun’s tree is tall but Jamun itself is very small in size. Its average length lies within 1cm to 5cm. Its skin is smooth and shiny. Its color depends upon its growth. It shows deep blue or purple color when it is fully grown. It is related to kingdom plantae. It tastes sweet but sometimes it has slightly acidic taste. It is used for many purposes i.e for making sauces, jellies, jams, syrups, juices etc.
It doesn’t grow in dry area. It requires humidity to grow well.
It is also used for treatment or curing diseases.
Like everything, it has benefits as well as side effects.
Uses:
It is extensively used for medicinal purposes i.e
